To change your screen resolution (and give yourself a much larger display area):
Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, double-click Display, and then click the Settings tab.
Under Screen Area, the arrow will be pointing somewhere between Less and More, and the current resolution will be indicated directly below the bar. If it is set to less than 800 x 600 pixels, click and drag the arrow to the middle of the bar until it indicates 800 x 600.
Click Apply, then OK in the new window that opens. The screen will flicker or go black briefly, and a window will open asking if you want to keep this setting. Click Yes, and your screen will be set to the new resolution.
(Note: Your monitor and display adapter determine whether you can change your screen resolution.)
